FYI, Did the CIA kill JFK over LSD?  Well, it seems like a stretch but the case of Mary Pinchot Meyer deserves your further investigation.

Rob Ford Obsoletes Satire

Well,  several days back I was working on a Rob Ford satire in which his behavior would go several steps beyond…  but I couldn’t get it right to my own satisfaction and I decided that the thing would die down some… that he would be less of a berserker than he had been. But noo.

Anyway, this is the thing I wrote last week.  It needed work but I probably should have posted it.  Here it is…

I’d Rather Be High While Watching That Amazingly Strange Ad with Bowie

We’re inured to it now — even those of us who remember a time when weirdo rock music, even of the most commercially popular sort, wasn’t used in television advertisement.  But every once in awhile, there is an odd or interesting enough juxtaposition of the content of the song to the company being advertised… or even just to the fact that someone deemed this appropriate to be part of an ad, that it makes me, at least, sit up and take notice (and wonder why no one else ever seems to).

The recent BART strike in the famously liberal San Francisco area had many folks here screaming for a new law that would put an end to public transportation workers’ right to strike.  When a bus strike threatened, I felt their pain.
